Westinghouse’s Grid-Enabled Electric Water Heater is ideal for use in an electric thermal storage or demand response program. The disconnect feature is located at the bottom of the tank and is shipped with the lower heating element disabled (requirement of the Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015). The disconnect is housed in a locked box using locks commonly used by utilities. This element can only be enabled by a utility company or program operator. We have made these water heaters in 3 different gallon capacities 80, 100 & 115 to suite whatever your heating needs may be.
To ensure there is no tampering with the lower element, thermostat or wiring the lockout box is completely covering the bottom element enclosure. While the lock box can be easily accessed within 30 seconds, it leaves the factory with the lower element assembly locked. The unit installs like a traditional electric water heater and can be configured for different operating voltages/inputs.

Long Lasting
High quality 316L stainless steel is the backbone of our Grid Enabled Electric Water Heater. The tank is laser welded through a concentrated heat source to ensure a strong, light weight unit. The Temperature and Pressure Relief valve is ASME rated and this unit also comes with a Full Port Brass Valve. Due to its impressive components it has superior corrosion resistance and the need for anode rods is eliminated completely. Leaks don’t stand a chance!
